In all the game modes allowing to play directly against human players, listed in the Play with a partner section of the application, the distribution of deals is totally random.
For the other game modes where players compare their performance against a constant opponent (Duplicate modes), we have chosen to slightly bias the randomness so that human players who are systematically in North or South have a more interesting game to play.
The deals from these tournaments are broken down as follows:
25% with at least 15 points in South,
25% with at most 15 points in South,
25% with at least 10 points in South,
25% with at least 10 points in South and 12 points in North.
Given the allocation criteria set above, you will logically notice that North and South players have more points on average than East and West players (and consequently, North and South have high cards more often than East and West).
